Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Reunion ("we," "us," or "our") is a private family service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Reunion service at heyreunion.com.

Information We Collect

Account information: When you sign up, we collect your name and phone number. Phone numbers are used solely for account verification via one-time SMS codes.

Family content: Photos, stories, important dates, and other content you choose to add to your Family Room.

Usage data: Basic analytics to help us improve Reunion (e.g., which features are used).

SMS Messaging

We use your phone number to send:

Message frequency varies. Memory messages are conversational and depend on your replies; verification messages are sent only when you initiate a login or signup; invite messages are sent only when a family member specifically sends you an invite.

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan.

To opt out: Reply STOP to any message from Reunion to cancel at any time. Reply HELP for help. You may also contact us at reunionfamilychallenge@gmail.com to request removal.

No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell your phone number, and text-messaging originator opt-in data is never shared with any third party. We use Twilio only to deliver these messages on our behalf.

How We Use Your Information

We never sell your personal information to third parties.

Data Sharing

Your family content (photos, stories, dates) is visible only to members of your Family Room. We use the following third-party services:

Google Calendar

Connecting Google Calendar is entirely optional. If you choose to connect it, Reunion requests read-only access to your calendar events (the calendar.events.readonly scope). We never request write access and can never create, edit, or delete anything in your Google Calendar.

What we access: the title, date, and time of upcoming events on the Google calendars you select.

How we use it: solely to display those upcoming events inside your family's calendar in Reunion. We do not use Google Calendar data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with any third party or use it to train AI/ML models.

What we store: the imported event titles and dates (so they appear in your family calendar), and an encrypted Google refresh token used only to keep those events up to date. We never store the contents of your emails or any other Google data.

How to revoke: you can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from Events → External Calendars → Google Calendar → Disconnect. Disconnecting revokes our access at Google and removes the events we imported. You can also revoke access directly at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Reunion's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How We Protect Your Information

Encryption in transit: all connections to Reunion use TLS (HTTPS). Text messages are carried by our SMS provider (Twilio) over their secured infrastructure.

Encryption at rest: your family’s information, including any imported calendar events and the encrypted Google refresh token, is stored on Cloudflare’s infrastructure, which encrypts data at rest.

Access controls: access to family data is restricted to your family’s members within the product, and to essential service administration by Reunion’s founder. Administrative access is limited and used only to operate and support the service.

What we never do: we do not sell your information, we do not share family content or Google Calendar data with advertisers, and we never ask for passwords, payment details, or government ID numbers by text message.

Sensitive information: the personal information we hold is limited to what families provide — names, phone numbers, birthdays and family dates, relationships, and the stories, photos, and replies your family shares. Phone numbers are never shared with other services; our analytics use anonymized identifiers, never raw phone numbers.

How we use AI: Reunion uses AI providers to generate questions, prompts, and content and to answer your questions about your family. Those providers process the data only to produce a response in the moment and do not train their models on it. Your family’s stories, photos, and replies are stored by Reunion, not remembered by the AI — each request stands alone, and we send the minimum information a given response needs.

If something goes wrong: if we ever discover a breach affecting your information, we will notify affected families promptly.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can stop texts at any time by replying STOP. You may request deletion of your information or your family’s account by emailing support@heyreunion.com; we delete it within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

Reunion is designed for family use. Adult account holders are responsible for supervising any minors using Reunion within their Family Room.
